Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation (OHVR) Grant Summer Cycle Now Open
The Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation announces the Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation (OHVR) Grant Summer Cycle is now open! Applications will be accepted through Wednesday, July 31 at 5 p.m.
The OHVR grant is available to cities, counties, federal agencies, and OHV nonprofit organizations incorporated in Utah. It provides critical assistance to sustain, enhance, and improve motorized recreation in the state. This is a great opportunity to secure funding for projects that support our vibrant outdoor recreation community. Available Fund for Each OHVR Category:
- Trail Work: $1,500 – $350,000 per application
- Access Protection and Education: $1,500 – $350,000 per application
- Search and Rescue (SAR): $1,500 – $150,000 per application
- Snowmobile: $1,500 – $150,000 per application
- OHV Tourism: $1,000 – $50,000 per application

Webinar – Utah Leverage the J-1 BridgeUSA Program to Support Your Tourism Business
The Global Talent Pathways event took place on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. Natalie El-Deiry, director of the Utah Center for Immigration and Integration, and experts on the BridgeUSA programs spoke about the U.S. Department of State’s J-1 nonimmigrant visa program. The BridgeUSA cultural exchange program connects tourism businesses with foreign nationals who gain education and work experience in the U.S. They talked about how they successfully place J-1 visa holders with businesses, nonprofits, and educational institutions across the country.

In 2013, the Community Development Office was established as a resource of Programs + Support and Regional Planning for rural Utah. With funding from the Permanent Community Impact Fund Board, their office supports regional planning professionals, facilitates communication and coordination between stakeholders, and creates and delivers training, tools, and informational resources.

The Utah State University, Institute of Outdoor Recreation and Tourism’s GNAR Academy
GNAR (Gateway & Natural Amenity Region) Academy is an online course library that seeks to fill in the gap between what community leaders and practitioners have the capacity for, and what their communities need, by providing accessible training around critical topic areas to help communities better understand and advocate for their own needs.
This course consists of seven lessons introducing key concepts and principles, important for helping GNAR communities thrive and effectively navigate challenges and change. Lesson topics are found on the registration site.
