Travel Resources Database Policy

1. The Utah Office of Tourism (UOT) Travel Resources Database (Database) contains information about travel-related businesses and organizations, the main part of which can be found in the public domain. The Travel Resources Database is property of the Utah Office of Tourism.

2. Data comes under the following categories: Lodging, Campgrounds, Dining, Transportation, Guides & Outfitters, Chambers & Visitors Bureaus, Museums & Galleries, Clubs & Fraternal Organizations, Public Lands & Government Agencies, Religious Organizations, Other Tourism Resources.

3. The Database information is gathered and updated primarily via an online, password-protected format and maintained by UOT. Database editing and update access shall be limited to the authorized representative(s) of the respective travel-related businesses and organizations, and to the UOT.

4. Inclusion within the Database shall be limited to those travel-related businesses and organizations that maintain a physical presence within the State of Utah.

5. The Database is intended for use by authorized users within the tourism industry and is not for sale or use by third party marketers for the purpose of solicitation to those businesses and organizations listed in the Database.

6. Any Database information not intended for the public domain, such as private contact information - including direct phone, home phone, personal email and other non-public data, as determined by UOT, shall not be distributed with the Database in any of its forms.

7. A searchable form of the Database, with exclusions, may be found on the UOT website, http://travel.utah.gov, along with a disclaimer stating that the information contained therein may not be used for marketing solicitations or similar commercial purposes.

8. UOT retains the right to distribute, with exclusions, to bona fide travel-related entities and other interested parties, the Database in other formats as necessary and/or desirable to the mission of the UOT.

9. Requests for electronic files of the Database must be made, in writing, to the UOT and will be addressed on an individual basis. A fee may be charged for materials and handling.

10. Participation in and listing with the Utah Office of Tourism Travel Resources Database is voluntary and UOT shall not be held liable by any Database listee for use by any third party of the information contained in the Database for purposes other than those described herein.
