The Utah Office of Tourism has released for sale its 2012 Utah 'Life Elevated®' Official Scenic Calendar. Now in its 40th year, the annual award-winning publication highlights many of Utah's iconic destinations, outdoor activities, and events through its stunning photography and award-winning graphic design. The calendar also features a greeting by Governor Gary R. Herbert.
A photo of iconic Delicate Arch in Arches National Park, taken by accomplished Utah photographer Scott T. Smith, was selected as the cover image. Many other Utah destinations are featured throughout the calendar, including all five national parks, many of Utah's state parks, national monuments, ski resorts, national forests, Temple Square, and various outdoor activities.

Flaming Gorge-Uintas National Scenic Byway Wins National Award
The Flaming Gorge - Uintas National Scenic Byway received a 2011 Scenic Byway Award for the "Moose Pond Byway Improvements" project in the Visitor Experience category on August 24 at the National Scenic Byways 2011 Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Visitors now have a safe and accessible route to the water at the popular Moose Pond destination along the Flaming Gorge – Uintas National Scenic Byway in northeastern Utah. The community-supported project created a nature trail, barrier-free fishing points, interpretive signs and accessible picnic areas.

Utah Commemorates 20th Anniversary of 'Thelma & Louise'
Movie screenings and vacation deals are being offered in Utah to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Academy Award-winning movie Thelma & Louise. Although the setting for the film is a fictional route between Arkansas and the Grand Canyon, the movie was filmed almost entirely in the states of Utah and California. Utah locations included Moab, Arches National Park, and Dead Horse Point State Park, the site of the final scene. The movie's 20th anniversary edition debuted on Blu-ray in February.
