e-Update for November 2, 2010
From the Managing Director
Leigh von der EschSNOW! It looks like fall is winding down and our ski partners are smiling with the recent snow storms.

Our celebration of the opening of the ski season will officially take place on Wednesday, November 17th at noon at the Utah State Capitol Rotunda. This is an important day for us to share our winter advertising campaign with the Legislature. We are partnering with our friends at Ski Utah to kick off the ski season and hope all of our tourism partners will turn out for Interim Day on the 17th to show support for the industry and the importance of continued legislative funding.

2010 Superfam Group UOT Hosts International 'Super FAM'

Utah Office of Tourism conducted a ‘SUPER FAM’ (familiarization tour) October 2-9, hosting nearly 30 representatives from Germany, France, United Kingdom, USA, Japan, and Canada. The idea behind the ‘SUPER FAM’ is to consolidate both budgets and time to give the state valuable exposure to international/domestic media/trade organizations via one major Utah visit. 2009 offers some easy comparisons, but with $12.13 billion spent across search and display advertising in the U.S., it was the biggest six-month total of online ad spending on record, surpassing the second half of 2008.
