The St. George Welcome Center is a pull-off rest area for motorists, serving I-15 northbound travelers coming into Utah from Arizona and Nevada. Restroom facilities, pay phones and drinking water are accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The large grounds surrounding the Center have shaded picnic areas.
Inside the Welcome Center is a staffed visitor information area, open seven days a week, closing only for major holidays. Hours of operation vary with the seasons, but it is generally open during daylight hours.
Tourism specialists are on hand to help you plan your trip, give directions, and offer suggestions for fun things to do. They have information on seasonal events such as rodeos, festivals, and resort snow conditions. Brochures, guides and maps describe attractions in all parts of Utah. Up-to-the-minute data is available on road closures, weather forecasts and other traffic-related issues.
The Welcome Center is located in the city of St. George, named in honor of George Albert Smith, and early Mormon pioneer leader. St. George and the surrounding area are known as "Utah's Dixie," for year-round mild temperatures. Two wonders of the world, Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park, are within a half-day's drive.
