Tourism specialists are on hand to help you plan your trip, give directions, and offer suggestions for activities during your stay. They have information on seasonal events such as rodeos, festivals, and resort snow conditions. Brochures, guides, and maps describe attractions in all parts of Utah. Up-to-the-minute data is available on road closures, weather forecasts, and other traffic-related issues.
The welcome center is located north of the town of Brigham City, named in honor of Mormon leader Brigham Young. It is near two of Utah's major tourist attractions: Golden Spike National Historic Site, located at the site where, on May 10th, 1869, the last spike was driven to complete the nation's first transcontinental railroad; and the Bear River Bird Migratory Bird Refuge, the stopping-off place for millions of birds as they migrate between Mexico and Canada.
