The hip restaurants and nightspots in this high-mountain town are the perfect complement to three world-class ski and summer resorts. Formerly a humble mining camp, it hosted Olympic competitions in 2002.
Park City's Historic Main Street - Silver mining activities in the Park City area date back to the late 1860's. By 1880, Park City had grown to a sizable population of over 10,000 people. Although "the great fire of 1898" destroyed over 200 houses and businesses, the town was rebuilt and many of the buildings now seen on Main Street date from that time.
Park City Mountain Resort - With direct lift access from Park City's Main Street, Park City Mountain Resort is truly in the heart of Park City. It will be the site of the Giant Slalom competition and all Snowboading events of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. A variety of summer activities including lift-served biking and hiking, Alpine Slide and horseback riding await visitors.
Deer Valley Resort - Renowned for service and mountain grooming, Deer Valley Resort provides visitors with a world class winter vacation experience. During the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, Deer Valley will host the Slalom, Freestyle Mogul and Aerial events. During the summer, enjoy the 50 miles of panoramic lift-served biking and hiking trails. Also home to the Park City Jazz Festival held every August and the Nouveau Beaujolais Festival in November
The Canyons - The Canyons is now the 5th largest ski resort by acreage in the United States. With over 134 runs covering 3,625 skiable acres on eight distinct mountains, The Canyons offers skiing on terrain that will please all levels of skiers and snowboarders.
Utah Olympic Park - This 389-acre park at Bear Hollow is the site of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games Bobsleigh, Luge, Skeleton and Nordic Ski Jumping competitions. During the summer, ski jumpers work on technique by landing on plastic runways and landing zones. Freestyle aerialists practice their twists and jumps and land in the park's 750,000-gallon training pool.
